LifeStreams is dedicated to helping people and organizations find -- and live -- their purpose. I believe that every human being travels their own unique path filled with choices, opportunities, challenges and pain necessary for growth. It is often in those most difficult times that we find out who we are, and what we are made of. Life can also be beautiful, gratifying, exhilarating, and deeply meaningful. A life lived consciously, on purpose, is a connected, passionate, profoundly enriching experience. By living on purpose, and through observing the every day miracles that life offers, we also discover who we are, and how we are uniquely gifted to succeed in our journey. Through my years as a therapist, I have worked with many people who were struggling with grief, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress, many to the brink of suicide. As a witness to my clients' pain, I became well aware of the devastation that a crisis can cause. I also became well aware of the amazing opportunity for growth during those times. The Chinese define crisis with two symbols: danger and opportunity. In every crisis lies a buried treasure in the destruction that will ultimately make itself known to the hurting person.
I often use the metaphor of a river in my work. Still, deep or slow water for the times when life offers us a peaceful float. This is a good time for reflection, awareness and introspection. White water is a dangerous time, and if you've ever paddled through white water, you know that it's about survival, based on instinct, skill, and sometimes asking for help. This is how LifeStreams got its name, because life is much like a journey down the river, sometimes deep and still, other times fast, stressful or dangerous. It's also about the choices we make on this uniquely defined journey. Whether it is counseling to heal wounds from the past, coaching to achieve goals and dreams for the future, or consulting to assist in strategic planning, motivation or improvement in your workplace, LifeStreams is dedicated to helping you find -- and live -- your purpose. |
